PRICING THE PUBLIC OUT OF THE COURTS
‘The government’s hikes – due to come in from April – will price the public out of the courts and leave small businesses saddled with debts they are due but unable to afford to recover.”
THE STATISTICS AS TO THE IMPACT ON LITIGATION
All of the points that the Law Society makes are salient.
- Cases brought by individuals are likely to fall by around 35%.
- For small and medium sized businesses the reduction is 49%.
- For larger companies the reduction is expected to be around 27%.
