Costs and the administration of estates: Kings Chambers Costs Team Webinar: 18th May 2023
On the 18th May 2023 at 4.00 pm my colleagues at Kings Chambers Matthew Smith and Andrew Hogan are presenting a webinar on costs and the administration of estates.
“the consideration that professional advisers should generally be paid for their work is counter-balanced by a consideration …. , namely that there is a general rule that a personal representative is not entitled to profit from their position, unless the position is made clear and approved in writing”
THE WEBINAR
The webinar looks at how the charges of solicitors acting as professional executors can be controlled and assessed by aggrieved beneficiaries through removal of the executors, assessment under section 71 of the Solicitors Act 1974 and through claims for an account, now that the case of Shepherd & Co v Peter Brealey [2022] EWHC 3229 (KB) is heading for the Court of Appeal.
HOW TO BOOK ON
The webinar is free of charge and booking details are available here.
