DO YOU WANT TO BECOME A HOUSING LAW BLOGGER? NEARLY LEGAL REQUIRES A TEAM OF WRITERS

I wrote earlier this year about the sad death of Giles Peaker the revered blogger on Housing Law.   The blog “Nearly Legal” is, I am glad to saying, continuing. However, such was Giles’ work rate a team of writers is being sought.

NEW ON THE BLOG

There is a message on the blog from Justin Bates KC.

“I wanted to update you all about the future of the blog. After discussions with Beth, the plan is that I’ll take control of the site and try and keep it going with the same detailed coverage that Giles provided. Given his super-human capacity for work, that’ll require a team of people.

So, if you’re a lawyer with an interest in housing law, and you think you’d have capacity/interest in helping with NL going forward, please can you contact me by email (jbates@ landmarkchambers. co. uk).”

FREE ADVERTISING FOR LEGAL JOBS IN THE VOLUNTARY LEGAL SECTOR

One of the features of Nearly Legal was that it provided free advertising for legal jobs in the voluntary sector.   Several years ago Giles stopped writing for several months because a family member was ill and this site stood in for that role.  I am happy to do that again until such time as Nearly Legal gets up and running again.  Send adverts/enquiries to members@civillitigationbrief.com

MY FAVOURITE GILES’ MOMENT

Every single time I open LinkedIn on my computer the first post I see is from Giles.  It provides me me with a constant reminder of his wit.  I had to share it…

In a (now deleted) comment on NL from a landlord, my firm was described as ‘abusive ambiance chasers’.

I cannot say how much I love this image.

And it is true that nobody had better get between me and that charming bar terrace with a white wine waiting, overlooking a piazza in Rome in the early summer evening, or there will be curt words.
