London Seminar for PIBA MEMBERS: It’s all Counsel’s fault: key problem areas and how to manage your practice to avoid them
Title: “It’s all Counsel’s fault: key problem areas and how to manage your practice to avoid them”
Speaker: Gordon Exall, Barrister at Hardwicke, London and Zenith Chambers, Leeds.
Topics to be covered:
* Your name in the law reports – but for the wrong reasons.
* Why people want to sue you.
* Why people want to complain about you.
* Managing your practice to avoid problems.
* Procedures and strategies to avoid and deal with problems & complaints.
You should determine how this fits into your individual CPD plan, but the following is a suggestion from PIBA:
Learning objective for CPD plans: to gain an appreciation of common sources of complaints and barrister’s negligence claims, why they arise and how to conduct themselves and their practices to avoid them.
Learning rationale for CPD plans: to enable attendees to improve their practice management and adopt strategies to avoid complaints and negligence claims in the first place and to deal with problems if they do arise.
Free to PIBA members and their pupils. No need to book.
The seminar will be followed by light refreshments.
