RECENT CASES ON LOSS OF EARNINGS: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: WEBINAR 21st NOVEMBER 2022

I am presenting a webinar “Recent Cases on Loss of Earnings: What you need to know” on the 21st November. Booking details are available here.

THE WEBINAR

This webinar looks at recent cases in relation to loss of earnings and considers their practical implications.   This is important to any personal injury litigator involved in a claim for loss of income.  This webinar looks at recent cases where the courts have awarded damages for future loss. In particular those factors that determine whether the court uses a multiplier-multiplicand approach or  makes a Smith -v- Manchester or Blamire award.

CASES TO BE CONSIDERED

Cases to be considered include

  • Riley v Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust [2022] EWHC 2417 (KB) (court used the “Ogden Tables” approach, finding the claimant was disabled).
  • Mathieu v Hinds & Anor [2022] EWHC 924 (QB)(Loss of earnings to a young artist)
  • Palmer v Mantas & Anor [2022] EWHC 90 (QB) (Loss of earning award of £1,206,053 – judge found Smith -v- Manchester approach not appropriate)

LOSS OF EARNINGS QUESTIONNAIRE

The webinar also provides a client questionnaire in relation to loss of earnings and considers the questions that should be asked when investigating a loss of earnings case.
